Lagos, like many African cities, faces significant youth unemployment challenges. This partnership allows us to tackle youth unemployment from multiple angles, says Omowunmi, Chairperson and Programme Coordinator for JCI Lagos Metropolitan.
Participants can choose from a range of vocational courses, from digital marketing to fashion design.
SUWK's job portal connects trained youth with over 50,000 partner organizations, providing real employment opportunities.
Each participant is paired with a mentor, offering guidance and support throughout their learning journey and early career.
The program's success lies in its comprehensive approach. SUWK's mobile-friendly platform allows participants to learn at their own pace, while JCI Lagos Metropolitan provides in-person support and networking opportunities. The combination of flexible online learning and real-world connections is powerful. We are seeing participants not only complete their courses but also quickly apply their skills in internships and jobs.
Since the partnership began, the results have been impressive. These outcomes are transforming individual lives and contributing to the broader economic development of Lagos.
