About the Partnership

Suzuki by CFAO Nigeria collaborated with SUWK to break gender barriers in the automotive industry and create opportunities for 30+ young women.

About the Organization

Suzuki by CFAO Nigeria is a joint venture between CFAO and Suzuki Motor Corporation, committed to providing high-quality, affordable vehicles to the Nigerian market. As part of their corporate social responsibility, they aim to contribute to the development of Nigeria's automotive industry and workforce.

Investing in Women's Potential

The automotive industry in Nigeria, like in many countries, has traditionally been male-dominated. Recognizing the untapped potential of women in this field, Suzuki by CFAO Nigeria partnered with SUWK in 2023 to work on the second edition of an innovative training program aimed at empowering young women with automotive skills and broader business acumen.

A Comprehensive Approach to Skills Development

The partnership between SUWK and Suzuki by CFAO Nigeria goes beyond basic automotive training. The program offers:

This initiative is about more than just teaching automotive skills, says Aissatou Diouf, MD at Suzuki by CFAO Nigeria. We're opening doors for women in our industry and equipping them with the comprehensive skill set needed to succeed in various roles within the automotive sector

Preparing Women for Leadership in Automotive

The program's success lies in its holistic approach. SUWK's mobile-friendly platform allows participants to learn business skills at their own pace, while in-person training at Automedic's facility provides hands-on experience with actual vehicles and equipment.

Measurable Impact on Gender Diversity

Since the partnership began, the results have been transformative. These outcomes are reshaping the landscape of Nigeria's automotive industry.

30 women trained in advanced automotive skills

55% of graduates have found employment in the automotive sector within three months

40% increase in female applicants for technical roles at Suzuki by CFAO Nigeria

95% of participants report increased confidence in pursuing careers in male-dominated fields
